Student Chapter of SAA


SCSAA along with the aforementioned student chapters has organized workshops, guest speakers, group meetings, and field trips. SCSAA has also been present at events such as the New York Library Association annual conference, the UAlbany Open Source Festival, and Library Programs Squared Symposium.

Goals of the student chapter:

  • To acquaint members with the objectives, ethics, and publications of the archival profession and the Society of American Archivists.
  • To provide members with opportunities to discuss archival issues and interact with professional archivists.
  • To promote archival communication with other student groups to develop mutual interest of the library, information, and archival professions.

The University at Albany Student Chapter of SAA was established in 1994. The faculty advisor for the student chapter is Dr. Philip Eppard. The current president of SCSAA is Renae Rapp.
