On Saturday, April 2nd, ISSA held a resumé workshop for ISSA members and other graduate students in the information studies field. We had a great turn out of students and professionals! Here is a list of the resumé reviewing professionals and their positions, along with a couple of photos from the workshop!
Mark Wolfe, Curator of Digital Collections of the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives at SUNY Albany, represented the Archives profession and assisted those students looking to secure positions in archival institutions.
Bill Rozell, IT Manager of Albany Public Library, was able to provide advice to those in both IT and Public Library tracks. Also from Albany Public Library, Mary Coon, Head of West Branches at Albany Public Library who gave some great advice for those of us looking at public libraries.
Brenda Hazard, Library Director of the Hudson Valley Community College and Steve Black, Coordinator of Reference and Instruction at the College of Saint Rose, represented the Academic Library profession.
At the workshop, students were able to sit one on one with a professional in their field to look over their resumé and give advice.
Some students even had quick peer review sessions over each other’s resumés.
